Biqqa, Saudi Arabia – The Saudi Arabian Drilling Academy (SADA) has inaugurated the Biqqa Training Well (ABQQ989), a first-of-its-kind facility dedicated to providing comprehensive training in oil and gas well services and maintenance. The ceremony was held at the academy's headquarters in Biqqa, attended by Governor of Biqqa Zaid bin Mohammed Abu Talib, a number of government officials, drilling and oil companies, supporting and sponsoring bodies.
During the inauguration ceremony, Engineer Khalid bin Abdullatif Al Abdulqader, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the academy, explained that the Biqqa Training Well (ABQQ989) has been designed to provide training on all activities and operations related to well services in all oil fields. He pointed out that the academy, through the well and its current and future programs, aims to increase its capacity and continue to provide quality training for future generations of specialists in various fields.
He noted that the inauguration of the well represents one of the academy's achievements and is part of its continuous program development, in line with the requirements of the labor market and contributes to achieving the Kingdom's Vision 2030 by injecting specialized national energies in the field of drilling and well services. He also highlighted the support of the General Organization for Technical and Vocational Training, the Human Resources Development Fund, and supporting and sponsoring companies.
Engineer Al Abdulqader added that the academy has graduated more than 700 young men who serve the nation and support the local economy by working in more than 30 local and international companies operating in the energy sector. Currently, the academy has more than 800 trainees enrolled in its various training programs to train and qualify them for the labor market.
For his part, Faisal bin Hussein Al Dihany, Executive Director of the academy, stressed the importance of inaugurating the well and enriching training in oil and gas well services and maintenance. He affirmed SADA's keenness to provide high-quality and advanced training programs that meet the aspirations of the energy industry and the needs of the labor market.
He praised the human energies that worked tirelessly to drill the well and achieve this achievement in the field of training, noting the role of success partners and officials from the government and private sectors, and the General Organization for Technical and Vocational Training, in providing continuous support to the training sector in the region.
Al Dihany explained that the contributions of drilling and oil companies to drilling the Biqqa Well (ABQQ989) at the academy's headquarters reflect their commitment to developing the drilling industry and enhancing educational and training capabilities, and achieving common goals for developing technical and professional competencies in the field of drilling and well maintenance.
The inauguration ceremony's activities included a presentation of the academy's training programs, a screening of a film about the new well and its importance in providing advanced training opportunities and modern technology for the future of the workforce in the energy industry, honoring success partners, sponsors, trainers and distinguished trainees, in addition to a tour of the educational and training facilities in the academy.
